Chips, cosmetics, and market guide
Chips and cosmetics are site features used for community progression and presentation. They are not cash, not gambling, and not a substitute for owning Balatro.
Chips
Chips are a site currency used for community features. The site may apply limits and eligibility checks so public systems stay fair.
Cosmetics
Cosmetics change profile presentation, such as avatar effects, frames, badges, or other visual layers. They are display items for the site.
Market and trading
Listings and trades depend on server-side ownership checks. A purchase or trade can fail if the listing changed, the item moved, or wallet limits would be exceeded.

Keeping trades clear
Review both sides before accepting a trade. Items can have different rarity, effects, ownership state, and market history. If something changes while you are looking at it, the server may reject the action instead of allowing a stale trade.
Market listings and trades are account features, not real money exchanges.
Cosmetic display
Equipped cosmetics can appear on public profile surfaces and leaderboard-style profile previews. If an effect does not appear where expected, report the item name and where you expected to see it.
If a transaction fails
Do not retry a trade or purchase over and over if the same error returns. Refresh the market or trade panel first. If the item is gone, the listing likely changed before your action reached the server.
